Sustainable Life

Category

Many people think that America no longer manufactures anything — but they are wrong. There are hundreds of thousands of makers in this country right now quietly pursuing their passion. This resurgence has paved the way for a new way of living and manufacturing that will be more sustainable and rewarding for all. These small businesses will be the backbone of tomorrow.

As a maker myself, I love creating beautiful things and selling directly to my local community. I find immense pleasure in carving out a place for myself, sharing my joy with others, and making the world a little more beautiful and sustainable in the process.

Shirley Bales, artist

I am artist discovering, creating and envisioning a brighter future through luminous color. Art that humbles us with splendor, reminds us of the source of it all and our place in this vast world.

Getting Lost in the Process

I paint vibrant, energetic, whimsical, and inherently beautiful forms that flow, merge, and layer, through the manner of their creation.

Finding beauty in all its forms, translating it as I imagine, into shape and form, and offering it to be part of another’s unique expression.
